It's the Journey that Matters most

So, I spent a good part of the holiday weekend in the car. By myself. For some folks, 20 hours in the car would be torture. It was a gift. 

Travelled over 1,000 miles for a dear friend's 60th birthday party. (For those of you younger than 35 reading this, 60 is NOT OLD- it's just older... It's all about perspective.) 

When the moment arrived for me to start driving, I found myself wondering why I had opted for the road instead of the skies. Could I spend all of that time with myself? Turns out, yes. It was a great time to reflect. I learned that while I attended an out-of-town party; I had gotten there during a 40+ year friendship. 

Just like life- things don't happen in an instant. Understanding takes time, effort, and perseverance. All of your experiences inform and shape your future decisions. Sometimes it takes a LONG time to see the outcome. It's the journey that makes you who you are! Spend time enjoying the ride!
