Is it the end or the beginning?

Sunset signals the end of the day and the promise of a new dawn. The end of something can be frightening- entering unknown territory.  Light fades.  We are in the darkness. 

Transitioning to a new job, career, home, city, etc. can be unsettling. We arrive at a new day, excited about what is to come, but we must traverse the night before getting to the light.  It’s a little like saying goodbye to a friend.  Maybe not a good friend, but still someone you know.  Are you ready to say goodbye?  How do you know?

Be prepared for unexpected feelings of grief, even if you want to move on.  Change is hard.  The dawn awaits and the monsters under the bed will disappear into the darkness.  Let yourself mourn the loss of that friend and find that new friend! Maybe even a good friend.
